So far the statistical information of my blog.
The first English serial I have watched in my life. It is an Action, Drama, Fantasy and Science Fiction Series. The series consists of 6 session and total of 121 episodes. Each episode will go for forty-five minutes and few for one-and-half hours. Do you really think it is a long time? If so you are wrong. Trust me. It’s worth watching it. I liked each and every part of the series. Well, it is again my view and my opinion. It’s all your options and yours choice to be liked or not. I started seeing this series on June 19th 2010 and completed on August 7th 2010.
We all know that a movie or a series is a team work. Many people are drawn in to it. Like Writers, Directors, Producers, Actors/Actress and lot more technicians. Even LOST is also a team work. But you can’t imagine how big the crew size is?
J. J. Abrams
Brian K. Vaughan
Have to ever hear of these many numbers of writers and directors for a series. May be. But I haven’t crossed them yet. The crew also includes 50+ characters. I really amazed by the crew and their work.
Story Line: A flight from Sydney to Los Angeles crashes a mysterious island that is not even known. Few people manage to escape from the crash and wait for their rescue. When time passes they understand that nobody gonna come to rescue them and find that they are not alone in the island. The mystery goes on and on till the end of the episodes.
“This story begins on September 22nd, 2004, in Sydney, Australia, when 324 people boarded a plane to Los Angeles. Like any flight that day, this was comprised of strangers… among them, a doctor and a fugitive, a soldier and a rock star, a con man and a lottery winner and an estranged couple, a single mother-to-be… And a man whose faith was lost. As Oceanic flight 815 flew high over the ocean…this group of strangers… Was about to be joined together. On a mysterious Island… Far from home… They found themselves on a journey… They could never have imagined. They loved… And lost. They fought… And died.
And after 108 days… Six people found rescue. But the Island… vanished…
Sending the friends left behind… Flashing through time. Three years passed, and those who came home… Were beckoned… To return… to undo their past… To alter their fate… To change… Their destiny.”
The most important part I loved in this series is the screenplay.
Screenplay: The first and fore most thing that stunned me in this series is the screenplay. I haven’t imaged that one can drive a script with all possible ways. Wow… Really its mind-blowing one. I couldn’t quit appreciating it. The screenplay of the LOST series is not a free flow stream. The story flows in 5 different periods. That is Past, Present, Future – Part1, Future – Part2 and Flashbacks.
The flashback part is used to show who the characters are and what they do. It also says what problems they had and how they end up in the flight journey. This is how the flashback merges with the current period.
The past part explains the island in 18th century’s people lived there and what do they protect against what.
The present part is the flight crash. It depict how the people survived after the flight crash, what was the cause of the crash and what are the unusual mysterious things they have gone through in the island.
Future – Part1: How the life would be if the survivors managed to escape from the island?
Future – Part2: How the passenger’s life would be if the flight doesn’t crash at all?
Each session has blend of all these periods and many recurring elements. It is your knowledge to make it out what is what. The most interest part is the series starts and end with the similar kind of scene. If you are clear in what you will really enjoy the story flow.
Characters: There are nearly 50+ characters acted in this series. Each and every one of them did a flawless acting. It looked like to me as if they are the real characters. The main characters are list are available in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_of_Lost. I can’t pick up the most like characters. I enjoyed all the roles and their acting of all the characters. It’s mesmerising.
Mixture: The whole series is a blend of many things like good, bad, evil, help, support, love, hate, betrayal, faith, science, belief, trust, hard work, mistakes, fate, death, pain, sorrow, ghost, cunning, leadership, affection, caring, hope, friendship, truth, lie, destiny, birth, exploring, revenge, travel, punishment, coincidence, time, learning, mistakes, sharing, team work, choices, patient, responsibility, murder, karma, technology, mystery, attachments, purpose, and myths.
Messages: Many good messages are thrown in this series overall. Watch it for it.
End: Everyone says the story should have an end either in a good or bad. But this series ends in different way. I wonder even there are other types of ending rather than good or bad. I loved this different ending with most of the questions unanswered.
Music: The music part is truly went well with the series. Michael Giacchino did a really a good job. Certain episodes ends with a touching music background. Loved it. There are many theme music and nearly 150+ soundtracks are available. Michael’s other works – Star Trek, Up, Mission Impossible III, The Incredibles, Cloverfield. He is one among the genius.
Special Effect: The special effect fitted well. As expected.
Awards: The series won 55 awards on various parts and total nominations are 213. I shocked that there are awards for the television series. For more information please visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_and_nominations_for_Lost
Flaws: There are unacceptable sections in this series. I think these are because of the various directors involved. There are unanswered questions. But still this can be ignored. As per me there are only quit few.
Interesting Factors: The Lost series starts in September 22nd 2004 and ends in May 23rd 2010.
I totally lost myself in the screenplay, the character performance and the ending. Enjoy watching it.
